摘     要
 生捕したカゲネズミからミヤザキツツガムシ,エゾヤチネズミからアラトツツガムシの各々満腹幼虫を捕集し,トビムシ卵を餌として湿度100%,25℃恒温下で飼育し,産出された精包の形態を観察した.両種とも,精包は柄と左右に延びる湾曲した2本の腕,及び精子のうからなり,これは2本の腕によって支えられていた.両種とも腕の先端は分岐しているものが殆どで,腕の基部には小突起が認められるものも観察された.このように形態については,両種間で大きな差異はみられなかったが,柄の長さは,ミヤザキツツガムシが平均146.0μm,アラトツツガムシは平均57.9μmであった.

Abstract This report is about the morphological features of the spermatophores of chigger mites: Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) miyazakii and L. (L.) intermedium.
  Engorged larvae of L. (L.) miyazakii were collected from Eothenomys kageus and those of L. (L.) intermedium were done from Clethrionomys rufocanus bedfordiae.
  The food for these chigger mites was only the eggs of collembola Sinella curviseta, and they were bred under the condition of 100% R.H. and 25℃, and the spermatophores deposited were observed.
  Both the spermatophores of L. (L.) miyazakii and L. (L.) intermedium were composed of a stalk, two arched arms and a sperm sac, and the sperm sac was mainly supported by the two arms. A crevasse in each arm was found at most of the spermatophores of these two species. One or some small projections were observed at the base of the arms.
  Mentioned above, the difference about the morphological aspects of the spermatophores between two species were not recognized so much, but the length (146.0μm) of a stalk of L. (L.) miyazakii was longer than that (57.9μm) of L. (L.) intermedium.
